Voters of WyomingVoters of WyomingWith all the excitement preceding the Iowa caucus and continuing into the New Hampshire primary, why was it that very few of the Republican Presidential Candidates seemed to take notice of the worthy State of Wyoming in their bid for The Office? Have they forgotten that Voters of Wyoming are part of the United States and their vote counts too? Have they forgotten that there are Republican voters of Wyoming?Voters of Wyoming? The fact is that few Republican candidates bothered to make appearances in Wyoming . The few candidates that chose to make appearances did it so quickly and with so little attention to the Voters of Wyoming that it could almost be taken as a passing thought or a comparative pat on the head to a burdensome child. It stands to reason that whoever wins the final nod of approval will view the general electorate in the very same terms; that is to say that they have time for only those who have something for them in return. With the Democrats turn in Wyoming coming up on March 8, we will have to wait and see if that party gives their people the same rude treatment.Voters of WyomingOne of the major reasons that Wyoming is getting ignored is that their State Republican Party Leaders had the audacity, along with New Hampshire , Florida , South Carolina and Michigan , to go against the national Party rules and scheduled it's caucus before February 5. For this breach of accepted policy, Voters of Wyoming are being denied half their delegates to the convention. One has to ponder the intervention level the Two Party system is having on the entire election process as articulated by the Founding Fathers. It seems this arrogance gives substantial foundation for the creation of Independent Party. Just ask a Wyoming voter.A sparsely populated state like Wyoming ,the number of delegates that represents the half million residents of the State,is significant! Once again, the voters of Wyoming are being punished and treated like errant children but this time it is for going against the wishes of the hierarchy of the Republican Party. Once again it is those on high that have forgotten the Voters of Wyoming by setting these policies for them. No one asked if the date of the caucus should be changed and no one asked if they agreed to relinquish half of their valuable delegation power over an issue as seemingly mundane as when they caucus. The result is that once again these good people, the Wyoming voters, are not given the attention of the rest of the nation that they rightly deserve. One has to wonder why the Republican Party would want be so unyielding on the February 5 date as to deny members of it's own party representation at it's convention. What is so special about February 5? Are they so desperate to hold on to whatever power they have that it has come to this? Let's all put ourselves in the place of the forgotten Wyoming voters for just a minute. They are not alone in losing delegates in the upcoming convention for having the nerve to stand up to the Powers of the Party. If this is the case, we can see whyHuckabee and Obama won in Iowa . Outsiders representing change is what the people want. The people are not speaking – they are screaming . Once again it is a classic case of the Insiders vs. the Outsiders. It is the Them vs. Us. Maybe it is time for a serious look at priorities within the Party. Finally the people are really speaking and the Grand Ole Party had better listen before it is too late to salvage this election.
